The office that creates or maintains a Broward County criminal record is the office that must answer an official request. Court documents go to the Broward Clerk, statewide criminal histories go to FDLE, and BSO receives requests for its arrest, detention, and agency reports. This privately operated resource is not able to receive or complete a public-records request.

This Is Not a Government Office. The resource is privately operated. It cannot retrieve an official criminal history, correct or remove government data, perform an official check, or receive a sealing or expunction filing. Those services must come directly from the responsible agency or court.

Need an Official Record?

Match the request to the Broward County custodian:

  • Arrest, booking, detention, and BSO reports: request them from the BSO Public Records Unit
  • Filed court cases: review Broward criminal court case records or telephone the Clerk at (954) 831-6565
  • Municipal police reports: contact the city police department that created the incident record
  • Statewide history and personal review: use the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, Division of Criminal Justice Information Services
  • Official Florida name searches: order through FDLE's State of Florida Criminal History Record Check
  • Court-ordered sealing or expunction: obtain FDLE eligibility first, then file in the court that handled the case

For court files, the Broward Clerk is located at the Broward County Judicial Complex, 201 SE 6th Street, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33301. The main Clerk telephone number is (954) 831-6565, and public counter hours are generally 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on weekdays except holidays.
